A little boy and his nurse smiling

Jessie May is a Bristol-based charity with a reputation for providing exceptional palliative care and support to children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, in their own homes. The charity has a team of dedicated nurses which provides specialist care throughout a child’s life, extending their support to provide bereavement care for families following the death of a child.

The support is provided in the comfort of the family’s own home from the time of diagnosis onwards. The Jessie May nurses work closely with other professionals who are involved in supporting the children and their families, to ensure continuity of care and that all needs are met; this includes medical and emotional needs to help alleviate some of the pressure on families.

Jessie May has provided nursing care at home for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions since 1996. Since its foundation, the charity has supported hundreds of children and their families in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Bath & North East Somerset, and Swindon & Wiltshire.

The True Colours Trust is currently providing core funding for Jessie May.

Further information on Jessie May can be found on the charity’s website.
